Friends, it's sad, but one more resource for our software is laid away on the archive shelves.
softimage.ru has stopped working. We, the Russian-speaking community of XSI, stay at the tombstone of our favorite application.
So much code has been written, so much work has been done within this wonderful app, but such are the paths of history, and nothing can be fixed. I wish you health and success in your life.

The really sad thing was, till today, other applications(no matter open/close source) still won't get/copy those brilliant design choice of SI, from simple construct stack to complex reference Model system...
They still focus on building "Tools"

XSI has done so many things right that made it a joy to use... Generally speaking, it's annoying that developers of other apps can't gather knowledge and learn from the past as easily as historians, for example by reading a book.

They would have to use software for at least a year to understand those kinds of concepts and why they make sense. That doesn't happen that's why knowledge in that area fades away really fast.

Ideally there would be books about those concepts, application independent, like for programming languages.

Maybe there will be a new science "software archeology" in the far future
