sorry, a bit biased
Nice to be using Softimage again. But where is everyone now?
Re: Nice to be using Softimage again. But where is everyone now?
Softimage is too cool to die. I know there are people who want to recode XSI. If even the few persistent folks here give up, or if this last community/forum (see EOL topic) disappears, it will undermine their efforts.

I come back to it and try to find again a time to study it... but it's only for a personal project and after coming back on Maya/Max for a short project (2 months... Maya is very a shot and 3DS Max is too bad of Maya) I appreciate a lot XSI and Houdini. Unfortunetelly XSI not have more markets so I focus more of my energies on Houdini!talent103 wrote: ↑19 Feb 2022, 05:30 After so many years away from Softimage I am doing a personal project in it again. It is amazing how much I have forgotten. It's coming back to me tho. Its worth it because MAYA is such a shit show. I may have some stupid soft questions one day. its not that I am a newbie its that time made me forget.

Really, it can't be that they just "invent" this "NEW feature" by their own...Can it?
BTW. "base point" is still a ambiguous name

Im still using softimage. For work I use Houdini
Softimage XSI is the most tactile, 'in the hand' feeling software Ive ever used. Feels close to actually using your hands to manipulate things.
