Hey guys. I'm struggling to understand an error that I'm getting in a render, I'm hoping someone can help..

When i press render current pass, after a certain point in the render i get an error message at the bottom: "Broke suspected infinite trace recursion". I've never had this before so it's new. It basically halts the render and i treat it as a crash because there's no point in leaving it to continue. It happens on all passes i have just three at the moment - colour, AO, hair.

After looking around on the net for answers there a few explanations but nothing definitive. It seems to be from my rough understanding that rays being shot from camera hit an object in the scene and mental gets confused at how to continue further because it might be faulty geometry interfering... Another thread suggested that the phairtk shader has a memory leak and causes this in conjunction with hair( I'm using strands though for hair).

My confusion is this: Why is it happening now when nothing has been added in terms of geometry for a while, all that was being tweaked was lighting and shaders?

Here's an update. After problems rendering strands with error i mentioned above i decided to revert back to xsi hair. I found a cool plugin that converts strands to curves, this way i could keep the KH2 styling by making hair from the extracted curves...I still get the error but the render plods on instead of hanging...

It's a bit messy and dreadlocked at the moment but i'll be tweaking it in the coming weeks...

The smirk is a welcome addition. :D
Not sure about the color correction though...
Doesn't it alter the "quality" (for lack of a helpful word) of the overall skin too much? :-\

I prefer it this way now, it bugged me that she looked like she had too much base on her face. A member in another forum also pointed it out so it then bugged me enough to change it, different strokes for different folks i suppose...
