Hey Dudes,
suddenly I have an issue using the preset manager. Neither Shaders nor any other nodes are visible. No matter what I search for, nothing to see.
The only way to get nodes is to pick them from the menues in the render tree.. not very comfortable ;) Anyone got a solution for the issue?
EDIT:
Runonce didn't fix it.
We're talking about 2011 SP1
Thanks
Phil

Re: Preset Manager Empty
As I am a one-trick wonder in these things (and fully aware of it): does runonce.bat by any chance fix it?
If not, on what version does this occur. On a new install or were you happily running it beforehand?

Runonce was my first try - didn't fix it.
We're talking about 2011 SP1. And I think it ran great before.. not totally sure, since I didn't do any shading for ages ;)

Re: Preset Manager Empty
That one trick is a good trick.
Also, temporarily rename your Softimage User folder.
Together, these two "tricks" will allow you to confirm whether the problem exists with the factory default settings.
update: Personally, I would probably also run Process Monitor to see where Softimage is looking for the presets.

Re: Preset Manager Empty
Creating a new User folder worked, presets back in action
I guess I'm looking for a way to combine both (migrate presets in my user folder?).

Re: Preset Manager Empty
Restore your old User folder, but rename this file:artmanphil wrote:Creating a new User folder worked, presets back in action

C:\Users\blairs\Autodesk\Softimage_2013\Data\Preferences\default.xsipref
If the preset manager works after that, then the problem was a preference setting.
If the preset manager doesn't work after that, then it looks like the problem may be one of the presets you have installed in the User location. So...you can start removing them one by one until you find the culprit.
