Hi this is my old man sculpt done Softimage|XSI and Mudbox.
Started with base mesh from XSI, unwrapp it and imported into Mudbox.
Texturing done using projection painting and also some of the area is handpainted.
Then 4k maps are exported from mudbox and did some tweeking in Photoshop.
For rendering I used 3 point light setup in XSI . I used fast skin shader with some fine tuning.
Then passes composed in Photoshop to achieve final result.

Re: Old Man
Great work!
Could you please also add an image of the basemesh from XSI before you went into Mudbox?
BTW - Two images in your post are not showing...

Re: Old Man
This is my basemesh for Old man. For my sculptures I use two base meshes one is XSI's default Male Head and Another one is I imported from Mudbox retopo and reimported into Mudbox.
This are some maps I generated. Because this is made only for my practice, I directly imported high level Mudbox model into XSI and apply sss with maps

Re: Old Man
It´s a nice start, but i think the facial anatomy is quite off and should get more attention.
The eyes are definitely opened to wide. Looks like he is shocked to death by something.
Also the mouth looks really strange.
I also really not sure, if the whole proportions are right.
Here is a link, that i found in a rush. Maybe this helps explaining it a bit more.
Don´t get me wrong...i think you are on a good way...but there is still much room for improvement.
By the way,...i think your UV-Layout is a bit uneffective. At least it looks like that to me, because the face gets so little space whilst the bodypart consumes most if it...
