yep, good idea. that's what I wanted to do before, but finding good HEAD ON shots that show me the basic shape of the object without any weird angles is tough. I've found ones that are close, but not head on.

I need head on shots for the legs, shoes to get their basic shapes down first.
After 3P0 gets finalized, I am doing R2 next, and after that, a Proton Pack. Someone already beat me to the punch though with a 1:1 printed pack.

not quite... I 'd need something far bigger and most likely a shot from the movie..

It looked spot on to me, and useful in the very least.

a quick Google/Bing search on c3po, c3po model gives enough material to work with I guess. Keep in mind the overall dimensions are set up so a person would fit in it.
Said differently, the proportions follow a human body. Right now it feels too stocky.

But it starts to shape up real nice.

I looked at this image originally late at night...looking at it again in daylight...
granted, it does look close..but to me it looked like a scan of a highly detailed toy. toys aren't always 100% accurate.

and if I blew up a small image like that (at least it appears small in browser), it'd loose the detail.

Make sure to create a "rough sketch" of the general shape of the rest of the body first,
before you get caught in too much detail.
That way you'll have a good overview of where "all"of this is "going"
and can easily see what still needs attention.
;)

I started using this tactic as it was suggested for my recent model retreads.

it certainly helps ;o)

Plan to finish 3P0 and R2 before the end of the year.

I want to try and evolve into more photo realistic looking skins and texture models.
