notification queue woes

Question: is it just me (and more specifically my email client) or is our si-community email reply notification system lagging more than usual? Due to its inner workings normally notifications could sometimes take 10 minutes to reach my inbox, but just now it would seem a notification has been on hold for more than an hour.
Asking this question does not mean I will be eventually be willing and able to try to actually fix it BTW...
