Nice! What program you are using to create these?
im using terragen, doing assets in softimage/gaea then importing it into Terragen, i've bought a license and started using it and got blown away by the quality of the renders, it looks so real. Everything is procedural, the quality of the Atmosphere and the clouds in general is probably te best on the market.

But its a bit like houdini, lots of nodes, proceduralism and math, but i decided to study it because if you are in for environment art (which i love) i think there is nothing that comes closer to it. I'll post some other stuff im doing, but im still a total newb at it :)

p.s there is a discount on terragen creative version for like 200$ so i got myself a copy \m/

Please don't stop spamming!

Would be interesting to see higher resolution images. And maybe some breakdowns, if any.

allright, here is an image that took me around 7 hours rendering, i kept working on that mountain peak last image, added some strata variation on the foreground rock, fixed snow, and added clouds, better atmosphere, little post in ps.

if u wanna see them full resolution, right click on the image > open in a new window, i dont know how to link them here full res :)

Here is a screengrab

Image

i'll explain a bit but its mostly self explanatory

from left to right i created blocks and groups to handle the node editor better, first part is importing a Gaea heightmap and resizing it, is basically the huge peak in the middle of the image, after that i added some subtle fake stone shader on top of the geometry, just to break the look and make it uneven, after that i added a strata node which causes the rock to look like strata/outcrops, an adjusted the parameters for the look i wanted, i also masked it so it would affect just the foreground rock, thats pretty much it in terms of geometry, rest is shading, some reflection affecting only the forerground rock with a mask, a procedural color shader for the rock, some snow with reflection and the clouds under the Atmosphere group:)

Hope you like it, im loving it so much. sorry for big images [-x

Holy mother of... terragen has really leveled up. I remember the first iterations of Terragen years ago, it was nothing as real as this.

I've been keeping an eye on Terragen for almost a decade now.

here is another one, the main structures are done with Gaea, imported and fine tuned in Terragen for rendering with shaders atmo and clouds

3-minute animation. Using Blender with Softimage theme. I know, right? Just you wait until I get to the NLA...
