Hi There

I work on computer case design. I've always been looking for certain sites where I can sell my case exterior designs diretly. I ONLY have appearence design, no patent, no physical products yet, see attachment as emxple (P.S. case in attachment is not my design, just for an idea).

Frankly speaking, though I have a good design, I'm in a dilemma.
* If I patent my design which will cost a lot time and money, and it can't be sold at last, It will turn out to be a big time and money consuming.
* If no patent, it will have high risk of being copied when showing to relative sites .

These days I figure out a 3-steps mode as below, but I 'm not sure whether it works or not.
Designer offer design----Crown Funding in Crowdfunding site(The crowdfunding plateform must protect copyright of the design)------Some enterprise buy the design and put it into production

Any suggestions will be welcome. Thank you very much in advance.

Thanks very much for your quick reply.

Sorry for my poor English. As I haven't patented my design yet, I think it may has the risk of being copied. What I want most is looking for sites that just having my deisgns sold directly.

Maybe try to contact case builders, like Lian Li, Cooler Master or Antec and see what happens.

Out-side designers might be welcomed...

Well there's always some unavoidable cost, after all you're spending some time, you have to buy software and machine...
In my small opinion, your minimal investment is offer of physical cases, lets say small line of them, immediately usable for everyone, plus some form of registration. Should be a way easier to protect a real product, also such 'real' product could be offered much wider, after all there's chance to sell some piece, not only design. Actually I'm not sure is it even possible to protect the ''unrealized'' design.
So, from that point of few finished prototypes, usable for everyone, I think there's sense to go with protection, asking for funding, so on.
