Post by Bullit » 08 Sep 2020, 21:27

Cinema 4D R23 feature highlights:

-New Character Animation Tools: Includes new Character Solver and Delta Mush workflows as well as a new Pose Manager and Toon/Face Rigs.
-Animation Workflow: Better Keyframing, Filters for the Timeline and Attributes Manager, and more.
-UV Workflows: All the powerful UV editing capabilities introduced in Cinema 4D S22 (the subscription-only upgrade) plus new tools geared toward UV workflows for hard-surface models.
-Magic Bullet Looks Integration: Easily apply one of over 200 preset film looks, import LUTs, or work with individual tools for color correction, film grain, chromatic aberration and much more.
-Scene Nodes: Scene Nodes allows users to explore massive Distributions and Procedural Modeling in advance of the further Cinema 4D core engine development for optimal creativity and experimentation.

Cinema 4D R23 can be downloaded on September 9th and will be available for both macOS and Windows. Visit Maxon’s website for a complete list of new features and updates.
Seems an interesting update.

Nice, compared to Maxon, Autodesk seems to suspend the development of Maya and Max.

Not so fast, they stopped ProRender development and took it out, so in practice you have to buy a render: Octane, Redshift to use it since the stuff it is there is obsolete.
R23 - Removed features (Virtual Walkthrough, ProRender, Sound System)
To focus better on our core product, we occasionally have to discontinue features. For R23 Maxon has removed Virtual Walkthrough, the Sound System (Microphones and Loudspeaker objects) and ProRender from the product package.
There is still good news for ProRender users though:
Going forward, Maxon is transitioning updates for ProRender to AMD, who are committed to continued support for Cinema 4D users. In 2021, AMD will update the ProRender integration to the next-generation 2.0 standard, bringing its benefits to Cinema 4D workflows including an improved rendering algorithm, accelerated CPU + GPU performance, Full Spectrum Rendering, USD support, and more.
I did not made a vcomprehensive research but it seems Cinema 4D is currently the most expensive application.

Roughly go through the list, PoseLib, Deltamush, procedural Nodes, flexible CDK...

Why still no one "steal" the idea of delta reference?

Maybe you can give them the idea. And to Blender guys.

Btw checked price and 3ds Max is much more expensive in my country

3dsMax 1 yearly rent -------------------------------------------------------->2136 euros
C4d 1 yearly rent with + Redshift ------------------------------------------>1015.19 euros

so quite a substantial difference.

A month subscription
3ds Max----------------------------------------------------------------------->267 euros
Cinema 4D+Redshift--------------------------------------------------------->125,84 euros

so even a bigger difference for casual users.

Where do you live? Here in Brazil Max Indie now is $200/year which is quite cheap.

For the price of a Modo subscription I can rent Max, Maya, Houdini Indie and I still have money to buy a used 1080. :)

So I dropped Modo and am software orphan at the moment.

Portugal, somos irmãos :ymhug:

Indie here - remember it is without Arnold - 333 euros- but they say tax is 21% so they are probably listing Spain here in Portugal it is 23%.

Boa noite! :)

Yeah ... the indie is a good deal. I was hoping Maxon would offer something like that but given the Maxon One thing, I don’t think it’ll happen.
