EOL SI-COMMUNITY 2024

Hello there!

A happy new and healthy new year 2023 to everyone!

Time flies. It´s nine years since EOL was announces for good old Softimage back in 2014. With the help of some of you guys, especially Hirazi and rray, I was able to maintain this community as well as well as possible.
XSI was an amazing piece of software and it still is. Moving on was hard for me as for may of you guys. Nor Blender nor Houdini made me feel home, like XSI did.
I guess it´s time to face the end of this community in one year. 2023 will be last year of si-community and it will close down in early 2024, 10 years after I got the "leaked" message, that XSI will be murdered by AD.
Back then I was on a gig in Finland, which was big fun...despite of this bummer...sigh.

WOW!... I don't know if I'll able to stand it. I mean, this website is a piece of "life" of XSI, that I still use for most of the work, since other softwares, even if newer, they cannot do it as fast and easy as XSI does.

Said that, what about the ADD-ONS, COMPOUNDS, etc. .. Will the archive still be accesible?

Hello guys,
If anybody wants to take over the forum, domain, hosting and maintaining it, I have no problem with that. Go ahead. Due to some hacker attacks the last couple of days and placing some bad scripts on the site leading to all my domains going offline and being shut down, I won´t take the risk any longer to get into more trouble. One year from now should be enough time, I guess.
The library can be kept in some google drive or something for sure.

Hmmm, sad news... Understandable but sad nonetheless. I have many thoughts about this, but now is not the time to vent them. If there is a way to keep the Resources alive after the end of the si-community, I'd be more than willing to help pay for possible hosting of this data. Keeping the whole site active would seem rather pointless, considering the low traffic it generates. Preserving it somewhere as a searchable archive without the whole forum-infrastructure seems to be a better idea. But the Resources are the most important things that should remain accessible IMHO. We've got a year to figure this out, so let's discuss our options, before all scrambling in different directions in panic..

If I finish my dev this year (sorry for long time fo push back...), will you keep this forum again more year to keep it ? Or create a new forum for dedicated Blackdot if you want ? It's a challenge for me because I have to concretize quickly
