volume_loader node(rc3)

This node loads a volumetric dataset in the form of a stack of images or as raw volume datasets. Right now it can accept 8bit/channel RGB bitmaps. It can also load 12 or 16 bit greyscale images (such as medical scans) if you know the width and height of each slice. The byte order can be determined by looking at a hexadecimal version of the image or you can try one first and then the other. It was a lot easier for me to write a "raw loader" then to try to load a bunch of different formats.

The exact number of slices must be entered.
Normally you will want trilinear interpolation on to smooth the volume between dataset points.

In the rendertree, as with procedural volume nodes, I would recommend using a Texture_space_generator node with Projection Method disabled and Space Transformation set to Object. This can be passed through a Texture_edit node and then into the coord input of the volume_loader.
