Warnings
Due to several bugs in XSI 4.0 and 4.2 regarding custom
operators on Hairs, the following restrictions apply:
- in XSI 4.0: the hair guides are correctly combed,
but not the generated hairs.
- in XSI 4.2: when a cluster is connected to a
custom operator, it gets crazy... that's why you have two text inputs
(semi-automatically filled) to keep travk of the needed clusters.
- in XSI 4.X or 5.X: we'll see...
Description
Comb hairs according to a gradient weightmap. The hairs are combed from smaller values of the gradient weightmap to bigger values.
How to apply
Select the Hair Primitive or X3DObject and the Gradient Weightmap.
Then choose "lm Gradient Hair Comb" from the "lm Gradient Map Tools"
sub-menu of the lmWeightMapTools menu.

lmGradientHairComb Operator Parameters
- Enable
Main enable parameter. If not checked the operator is desactivated. - General
Comb High: factor applied to the vertical (normal to the mesh) composant of the shape.
Comb Width; factor applied to the horizontal (tangeant tot the mesh) composant of the shape.
Shape: FCurve allowing a precise control over the hair shape. - Clusters
Gradient Map Cluster: Full name of the point cluster containing the gradient weightmap (optional if the weightmap is generated on all the geometry).
Hair Polygon Cluster: Full name of the polygon cluster from which the hair are generated (optional if the hairs are generated on all the geometry).
