Description
Takes up to 30 Nulls, NurbsCurves, NurbsSurfaces or PolygonMeshes as input and ouputs a value corresponding to the distance of each weightmap point to the connected geometries.
How to apply
To create a new Weightmap and apply the
lmProximityMapOp on it, either select a X3DObject, a Primitive or a
Cluster. To apply the operator on an existing weightmap, select the
weightmap.
Then choose "lm Proximity Map" from the lmWeightMapTools
menu.
Exemple of use
This exemple shows some of the possibilities of the
ProximityMap.
The lmProximityMap is connected to a torus (a Nurbs Surface: gives
better results than meshes) and a
null. The Falloff FCurve is set such as there is a kinb of wave in the
proximity detection.

lmProximityMap Operator Parameters
- Enable
Main enable parameter. If not checked the operator is desactivated.
- Mode
Hold: Allways keep the current value.
Read From Object: This is a "Live" mode, the weightmap is fully recomputed every time.
Read From Objects - Caching: in this is mode the weightmap animation . It allows a real-time playback of a heavy weightmap animation.
You have to set the StartFrame and the EndFrame parameters that appear when this mode is chosen. If you want to clean the cache, just hit the CleanCache button.
Normal Caching: Just normal mode...
Keep Maximum Mode: Keep the maximum value between the current and the last frame: allow to "write" on a weightmap with the animation of a null for exemple. - Spatial Range
Near, Far: the spatial range of proximity detection.
Falloff: FCurve that drive the falloff of the proximity computation. - Post-Process
Post-Process:
None: nothing...
Clamp: Clamp weight values between the Min and Max values.
Change Range: change the range value to the specified range.
Min, Max: Min and Max values of the Clamp and Change Range modes.
- Add Connexion:
This button launches a Custom Command that adds a connexion to the lmProximityMapOp. You can either select one or more objects and click on the button to add connexions to all the specified objects, or you can select nothing and you will be asked to pick an object. - Remove All Connexions:
This button launches a Custom Command that removes all the connexions from the operator. - Additive Mode:
If not checked, each weightmap value is the sum of distances to all the connected objects, weighted by the Factor parameter. If checked, the output is the sum of all distances divided by the sum of all factors. - Object group:
Enabled: enable or disable the proximity computation to an object.
Remove: this button lauches a Custom Command that removes the specified connexion.
Factor: the distance of the output to the object is weighted by this factor. It allows more flexibility while mixing different objects proximity detection.
