INSTALLATION
------------

1. Start XSI

2. Goto File-> Addon->Plugins(SPDL)

3. Choose Install and browse to the folder where the Whirly.spdl file is. Press 'Install'

4. A new plugin called 'Whirly' should now be in the list.

USAGE
-----

To use, open the rendertree, goto nodes->texture->more... In the dialog, press 'Path' and choose the 'User' option (3rd from top) and load the 'Whirly' preset. This will create a basic texture node that you can then use. OR you can use one of the presets that are included in the archive. Just drag+drop one of them from the presets folder into the rendertree, and connect to your diffuse/bump etc.

NOTES:
------

1. I'v only tested it on XSI 3.01. It *should* work in earlier versions, but you'l have to try and see.

2. The texture requires a coord input for mapping, spatial or UV etc. Also it outputs a scalar, so if you just connect it to your diffuse, you won't get anything very nice. Instead connect it to a Gradient (nodes->mixers->gradient) input. Either directly or through a scalar_smooth_range.

3. The presets have been created with UV coords in mind. So if you use spatial coords, the texture will probably appear too small. To correct this, open the texture generator node and reduce the UVW max values to 0.2 - 0.3 or so. OR you can decrease the frequency values.

4. The parameters that control the noise are quite sensitive to change. Often .1 changes in the values can produce dramatic changes in the look..And if you push them too high, you can get artifacts, so go slow !
